Week 26: Essay Writing
Essay writing is an essential part of any academic career, and especially in our degree, English Studies, as it involves a lot of essay writing. In today's blog I am going to provide some useful links to writing labs online and explain the difficulties I face when writing essays.

Next, I am going to share the difficulties I face when writing essays. My biggest fear is experiencing a case of writer's block. I love to write and otherwise express myself well, but if for some reason the words don't come to me, my brain tends to get blocked really badly and I have a hard time getting out of the rut. For some reason, when we are sharing ideas in a group, I come up with the most unique and spot-on vocabulary, but when I am alone, it does not happen as easily. Also, if I don't know how to structure my ideas well in accordance to the actual structure of the essay, it can be a catastrophy that ruins my train of thought. Hopefully, these little disasters will not make an appearance in any of my final exams that are coming up!

This week, to improve my English I have done a discursive essay, the last essay that we are to hand in for the 'Lengua Inglesa IV' term. Our group went over the different types of essays carefully, discussed which one could be the best option in relation to our Shakespeare play, and we were happy to find that this excersise would serve us for the following week's 'redacción' practice, since we were going to do a comparison and contrast essay as well. Doing this type of essay for 'Lengua Inglesa' enabled us to really get familiar with the structure of the essay, and it was an overall beneficial experience!
